The Laboute's Fairy Wrasse is a very rare fairy wrasse species and is not often seen in the aquarium trade. The lower half of this wrasse is white while the upper half is pinkish-purple with horizontal lines down its body. Both males and females have these stripes but the colors of the males are much brighter and more intense than females. Juveniles are pink overall with a lighter undersides and black spot by the tail. They have a generally placid temperament and tolerate most tankmates, provided that they have plenty of places to escape to and hide to feel secure. These fairy wrasses are perfect for reef aquariums. They accept most types of small foods once acclimated. These fish are known jumpers, so keep the tank covered at all times.
